About that Gal Val

Valerie began her radio career in Brawley, CA in 1992. In 1993 she moved to Palm Springs, CA where she worked in radio until 2014. During her time in Palm Springs, Valerie worked on air in a variety of formats including Top 40, Rock, Classic Hits, Adult AC and hosted her own Talk Show. Over the years she held additional titles including Marketing Director, Social Media Manager, Promotions Director and Account Executive.  While in Palm Springs Valerie was voted the 2013 "Best Radio Personality" in the CV Weekly Reader's Poll for her mid-day show on MIX 100.5.

In 2014 Valerie moved to Los Angeles to work with Cumulas Los Angeles and the legendary stations 95.5 KLOS and 790 KABC. 

After her father passed in 2015, Valerie decided to move back to the South so she could be closer to family. After settling in on the Gulf Coast she began hosting the afternoon show on Alpha Media's 967 The Bull. This was Val's first rodeo on a country station and she quickly feel in love with the format.  After The Bull switched formats in February 2016, Valerie moved to Alpha Media's Top 40 station 1071 The Monkey were she hosted mid-day's noon - 3pm then stayed on air to Co-Host the afternoon show from 3pm - 7pm with James Steele. 

Valerie is a certified R.M.P. (Radio Marketing Professional) who also writes commercial copy, radio jingles and has voiced over 2,000 radio and TV commercials. Valerie is also an MC for many local events and concerts.

Valerie’s television experience includes co-hosting the "Loving All Animals Pet of the Week" segment on CBS LOCAL TV 2 in Palm Springs. The segment helped find homes for many animals in need. She was also host of the popular Palm Springs TV show, “The Hot 5 Video Countdown” for 2 years and she had a regular long running segment on Patty Daly Caruso’s TV show “Valley Views.” Valerie’s segment was called “The Star of the Week” and featured local people who contributed in a positive way to the community, usually through community service. In 2013, Valerie had a co-staring role in the independent film, "Sushi Anyone?" After moving to the Gulf Coast, Valerie teamed up with WLOX-TV and the Humane Society of South Mississippi to feature adoptable pets on a bi-weekly "Pet of the Week" Segment.

Valerie is an animal lover who is "Mommy" to 3 rescue dogs. Being an animal lover lead Valerie to host her own weekly radio talk show “Pet Chat." She was also a contributing writer for a local online Pet Column. Valerie is a volunteer with animal shelters and animal welfare organizations. During her time in California she worked closely with Loving All Animals and Boston Buddies Southern California Rescue. Currently she works closely with the Humane Society of South Mississippi and regularly donates her time to animal welfare causes. 

What does she do in her spare time?
Valerie loves Roller Skating! She was a member of the Palm Springs roller derby team Bombshell Bettys. She loves painting (even though she claims that she paints like a 6 year old). She also enjoys hosting Art Parties, writing, blogging, traveling, hiking, all things nature, dogs, the ocean and finding pretty sea shells on the beach. Glitter is her favorite color.
